Will it take a tragedy to finally force concrete action to protect our democracy?

We must ask ourselves some difficult questions. What tragic event will finally force some action? When will we collectively say, enough is enough?

Pressing questions regarding dire working conditions for our elected officials and their staff.

At which point do our elected Houses and Assemblies finally take notice and do something? Will it be when an elected official or staffer is assaulted? When someone gets killed? When someone takes their own life after consistently being harassed?

These are some of the questions that those of us on all sides of the political spectrum as well as those that report and comment on politics need to ask ourselves as it gets increasingly dangerous to participate in our democratic process.
