The effort to get a new professional sports arena built in Ottawa continues, as Capital Sports Development Inc. looks to engage with provincial officials to discuss support for a new arena for the Ottawa Senators.

Capital Sports Development Inc. was registered last week by Stegano Hollands, a consultant with Crestview Strategy, to engage with provincial officials to discuss support for a world class professional sports arena in Ottawa.

Capital Sports Development Inc. is the name of the consortium led by the Ottawa Senators that reached an agreement with the National Capital Commission to develop a major event centre at LeBreton Flats. The group is proposing to build an NHL hockey arena and events venue surrounded by mixed-use development, located on Albert Street between Preston Street and City Centre Avenue, according to an announcement in June.
