Who's Lobbying for Whom: SAP wants to talk about digital policies and IT offerings

Software and tech giant SAP is lobbying the province on its digital policies and IT offerings.

SAP Canada Inc. was registered to lobby this past week by Andy Canham, their managing director. The intent of their lobbying effort, according to the filing with the integrity commissioner's office, was to communicate with public office holders on programs and policies related to innovation, the digital economy, digital skills and training, and the adoption of software, including cloud technology, as they relate to information and communications technology by public sector entities. SAP also wants to talk with government officials about procurement policies as it relates to the adoption of technology products and services by the government and its entities.

SAP has experience working on major government projects. At the federal level, it was tasked with managing a pilot to test a potential HR and pay replacement for the problematic Phoenix system.
