The group that operates the Pearson airport in the Toronto area wants to talk to the province about encroachment of housing developments into flight paths, among other issues.

Amin Massoudi, a consultant with Atlas Strategic Advisors Inc., registered this past week to lobby on behalf of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

According to his filing with the provincial integrity commissioner, the GTAA is looking to present the airport to the province as a key employer and economic driver in the region, in addition to lobbying on several issues. This includes land use, specifically as it pertains to land use policy specific to encroachment of housing developments into flight paths and the airport operating area. The GTAA is also lobbying for greater engagement with the province on transit connectivity and to advance policies and proposals to assist with addressing the ongoing labour shortages and skills gaps at the airport.
