The Hamilton Police Association has registered to lobby the Ontario government via consultants at EnPointe Development Inc.

Earlier this month, a Hamilton city hall meeting was shut down after the Hamilton Police Service requested a 5.48 per cent or estimated $10-million budget increase in 2023.

The budget meeting was cut short due to protesters objecting to the increase, which follows in the footsteps of the outrage Toronto is currently facing after Toronto City Council passed the 2023 municipal budget on Feb. 15, granting a $48.3-million increase to the Toronto Police Service’s funding.
