The Trudeau government says it’s giving Toronto $471 million to address the city’s housing crisis.
The money will come from the $4-billion Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF), which the feds have spent the last few months promoting as a way to course correct housing throughout Canada.
Toronto becomes the sixteenth municipality to receive funding under the HAF, though no other city has been assigned a larger chunk of the envelope than the nearly 12 per cent Mayor Olivia Chow secured on Thursday.
