Sources close to the PC party say election might be called in February

If Ford doesn’t pull the trigger by mid-February, the sources say he might wait until the scheduled election date in June 2026 — or close to that.

Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives might just be feeling the pull of political gravity.

According to sources close to the party, a mix of good timing and strategic advantage are leading the premier to call an early election in Ontario.

By early February, the PC Party’s election machine will be primed and ready, the sources say. Much of the infrastructure for an electoral campaign will be in place by early next month. Candidate offices, staff, and logistical preparations are reportedly nearing readiness.
