PC Leader Doug Ford is calling for immediate action on border security, and criticized the federal government’s response to demands from the Trump administration.
On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a summit in Toronto to discuss Canada-U.S. relations, which Ford skipped to focus on his campaign announcements.
When asked by QP Briefing whether this was an example of the election campaign getting in the way of discussing the province’s best interests, as the opposition has been saying, Ford expressed frustration with what he described as federal inaction, saying that Canada must take decisive steps to address cross-border issues.
