Provincial by-elections in Kanata-Carleton, Scarborough-Guildwood expected to be holds: pollster

According to pollster Nik Nanos, there hasn't been a scandal or sensational issue to drive voters to the polls, so "it would be hard to see a flip at this particular point in the game."

As advance voting gets underway for provincial by-elections in Kanata-Carleton and Scarborough-Guildwood, one pollster isn’t expecting any surprise results.

“The reality is that both ridings will likely be holds,” said Nik Nanos, the chief data scientist at Nanos Research.

Both by-elections are scheduled for July 27, though eligible voters have until Friday to apply to vote by mail.
