Even though U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs threat has been apparently put on hold for now, it looks like Ontario will soon have an election.

Premier Doug Ford insists that the stakes are too high to wait until the next scheduled election in 2026.

Trump’s latest promise to slap a 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian goods might be on hold, but Ford insists that Ontario needs a clear mandate to weather the storm.
