The Ford PCs have tabled new legislation that would increase fines for employers that underpay workers, provide additional insurance coverage for firefighters, encourage more people to work in skilled trades and add new requirements for job postings made by major companies.
The bill, dubbed the fifth iteration of "Working for Workers" legislation, has been previewed by the government over the past few days.
“I will use every tool in my toolbox to ensure that we continue to build a province where hard work pays off, big dreams come true, and our workers are protected,” Minister of Labour David Piccini said during a press conference in Mississauga on Monday.
