Ontario warns Toronto Public Health to drop drug decriminalization application

Toronto Public Health filed an application to Health Canada in early 2022 to decriminalize the possession of illegal drugs for personal use.

Ontario warns Toronto Public Health to drop drug decriminalization application

The Ford government wants Toronto to drop its bid to decriminalize possession of illegal drugs for personal use.

Health Minister Sylvia Jones and Solicitor General Michael Kerzner said in a recent letter to Toronto's public health chief that the province is 100 per cent opposed to the city's application to Health Canada.
