Ontario voters left guessing on costs of Liberal, NDP plans

Without cost estimates, voters are left in the dark about how feasible these plans are or whether they would lead to higher taxes or cuts elsewhere.

As Ontario’s political parties make their campaign promises, the Liberals and the NDP have yet to disclose the estimated costs of their proposals.

Both parties have pledged significant social and economic reforms, from doubling Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) payments to tackling homelessness, yet neither has provided a clear breakdown of how they intend to pay for these commitments.

On Wednesday, both Crombie and Stiles promised to double ODSP payments over two years and increase them annually to match inflation.
