Environment Minister Andrea Khanjin announced Thursday that Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park would open to the public free-of-charge on July 1, roughly a year-and-a-half after it was first announced in the 2023 budget.

The Ford government is opening Ontario's newest park in time for Canada Day.

Environment Minister Andrea Khanjin announced Thursday that Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park would open to the public free-of-charge on July 1, roughly a year-and-a-half after it was first announced in the 2023 budget.

The park, located in the Township of Uxbridge, covers territory in the ecologically important Oak Ridges Moraine area in southern Ontario and is located just 50 kilometres northeast of downtown Toronto.
