Ontario has selected the first six recipients for support under its hydrogen innovation fund, which is aimed at kickstarting opportunities to use the fuel source in the province.
Most of the organizations are using the funding either for feasibility studies, research or to conduct tests, but some of the recipients are planning on constructing systems that harness hydrogen power.
“Our government is leveraging one of our province’s clear strengths — our world-class clean, reliable and affordable electricity system — to make us a leader in the growing hydrogen economy,” Energy Minister Todd Smith said in a statement.
