Ontario commits $1.6 billion to support CAMH's forensic mental health initiative

The new buildings will be used by the hospital to its new forensic mental health program, that will support patients in the legal system awaiting trial.

Ontario commits $1.6 billion to support CAMH's forensic mental health initiative

Ontario is investing $1.6 billion for two new buildings at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's Queen Street West campus in Toronto.

The money will go toward the design and construction of the buildings that will be part of CAMH's plan to create a forensic mental health program.

The idea is to provide support for patients with mental health issues in the legal system who are still waiting for trial.
