After months of speculation on her future, former federal health minister Jane Philpott has a new role.

But it's one that will keep her out of elected politics for at least the next election cycle.

Premier Doug Ford on Monday stunned provincial political watchers by naming Jane Philpott as the lead of his government's newly formed primary care action team.
