Ford signals he won't reduce size of cabinet

Asked whether he plans to streamline his cabinet, Ford dismissed the idea right away. “The only thing we should slim down is the media,” he said, brushing aside concerns about the size of his team.

After the winter snap election, Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives will return to Queen’s Park with nearly the same number of seats they held before the election.

The caucus has secured 80 ridings, despite seeking a "stronger mandate" from Ontarians, aiming to get more than the 83 seats they won in 2022.

The only notable changes within the party ranks is that two PC incumbents — Patrice Barnes in Ajax and Christine Hogarth in Etobicoke—Lakeshore — lost their seats.
