Ford government puts school board under supervision

The province is taking over one Ontario school board and sending investigators in to probe several others — including Toronto public and Catholic — as part of a sweeping move to probe financial “failures.”

Ontario Education Minister Paul Calandra is warning that if the next federal government does not increase funding for the $10-a-day child-care program, the fees parents pay will rise.
