Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday marked the start of design and planning for a new medical school at York University while doubling-down on his pledge to not mandate four units as-of-right across the province.
The PCs announced a $9 million funding pledge for the design of the school — which will focus on training family doctors — in last week's provincial budget.
“This budget continues to invest in people and communities, including record Investments to make health care more connected and convenient. We're investing another 546 million to connect approximately 600,000 more people to a primary care team and we're making significant progress to bolster our Frontline Healthcare Workforce since 2018,” Ford said during a visit to Vaughan, the location of the new school.
