Ford clarifies no election in 2024 after slip-up

"That was a slip. There's no election in 2024, the next election is in 2026... Oh boy, now you know what the headlines will be," Ford said.

Premier Doug Ford appeared to have a slip of the tongue when he said on Monday that the provincial election would be held in 2024.

While introducing MPP Andrew Dowie in an unrelated announcement, the premier said he hoped to see Dowie re-elected when the next vote takes place in 2024.

He corrected himself shortly after.
