Ontario Premier Doug Ford agreed with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claim that U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs aim not just to harm Canada’s economy, but to set the stage for a potential annexation.
Answering a question by QP Briefing on Tuesday, Ford rejected Trump’s position that the goal of the tariffs — 25 per cent on Canadian exports and 10 per cent on energy — is to curb fentanyl imports.
Ford said that the move is a direct attack on Canada’s economic stability.
