The province's fiscal watchdog is investigating the Ford government's deal to move nine ServiceOntario outlets to Staples stores.
The Financial Accountability Office of Ontario announced on Monday that it had started official investigation into the Staples agreement, which was originally requested by Liberal MPP Stephanie Bowman.
In January, the Ford government announced that it was moving some privately-run ServiceOntario locations to Staples stores, saying it was providing the office supplies chain with some public funding for necessary retrofits as part of a sole-sourced deal.
