The Democrats are having a fair bit of success labelling former President Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance as “weird”. Not only has the description resonated with the public but it seems to have gotten under the extremely thin skin of the Republican nominee.
“Weird” is such a great term. Calling an opponent evil, destructive or a fascist has the potential of backfiring, accidentally encouraging voters to support the supposedly horrible candidate just to show the critics whose boss.
“Weird” is different. You may like a candidate and some of their policies, but calling them “weird” sows doubt in your mind about whether you actually want them in power.
