Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie says she would also work to dismantle internal trade barriers if she became Ontario's next premier, including making it easier to sell liquor across provincial borders.
Her comments stand a stark contrast to the last Liberal government, which largely resisted changes to the province's then highly restrictive liquor retail market.
But during a speech at the Canadian Club on Thursday, Crombie criticized Doug Ford’s recent push to reduce trade barriers — including a pledge unveiled earlier in the day to pass sweeping legislation to eliminate a host of restrictions — calling it "too little, too late."
