Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie is getting close to making a decision on whether to run for the Ontario Liberal party leadership, QP Briefing has learned.
A source close to Crombie said she was well-received at this past weekend’s federal Liberal convention in Ottawa, where she was encouraged to run for the leadership of the provincial party.
Right now, Crombie is “weighing her obligations” as mayor and getting a sense of what it would look like if she entered the race, according to the source, who spoke to QP Briefing on the condition of anonymity.
