Only 48 hours out from election day, Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie has decided to weigh on the federal Liberal leadership race, endorsing former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney.
She told reporters on Tuesday that Carney is the "right leader for this moment in time," praising his economic expertise and how he'd match up with U.S. president Donald Trump, who is threatening to hit Canada with 25 per cent tariffs as soon as next week.
“Liberals in Ontario and across Canada are feeling a spark right now. A confidence that we can stand united and meet this critical moment in history—together,” Crombie said. “Staring down the threat of Donald Trump’s tariffs, it is more clear than ever that we need leaders who have the right priorities.”
