After a short-lived tenure as Canada’s housing minister and a stinging cabinet demotion by new Prime Minister Mark Carney, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith is suddenly on the outside looking in. This has led to speculation the former Ontario Liberal leadership contender might turn his eyes once again to Queen’s Park.
The Beaches–East York MP didn’t hide his disappointment over being ousted from cabinet earlier this week.
“The way it played out doesn’t sit right,” he wrote on social media, adding that he reversed his plan to leave federal politics because of the housing portfolio, a role that went to Gregor Robertson.
