Ford calls for return of free paper bags at LCBO

The premier made the request in a letter to the LCBO's CEO on Sunday. LCBO said they will attend to it.

Ford calls for return of free paper bags at LCBO

The LCBO says it will acquiesce to Premier Doug Ford’s request to bring back free paper bags for customers.

The bags had been put aside for environmental reasons, but Ford argued the “environmental merits of this decision are questionable at best,” as paper bags are easily recyclable.

Since September last year, LCBO removed the free paper bags, encouraging customers to either bring their own reusable bags, or buy one at store for up to $2.95 each. They still provide cardboard boxes and carriers free of charge.
